The Proffered Lotus Paullyn Sidhu Ratings: 0 - 0 votes
Do not let the sari fool you! Paullyn Sidhu is a charismatic Malaysian Punjabi poet, writer and ‘Cikgu’ (guru) who dares to be different!

Sky-diving, white-water rafting, traveling solo, weathering storms, smiling warmly, listening objectively, soothing troubled souls and giving free motivational talks in hundreds of educational institutions all over the world – she’s done it all!

A past recipient of seven Science Education Awards from the Malaysia Toray Science Foundation and an Inner Beauty Award from Shiseido, this iconic game-changer and innovative mentor is still saying – “Believe, then achieve!”

Propelled by her love for writing, she also wrote for 18 years as a freelance education columnist for two major newspapers in Malaysia - The Star and Daily Express.

The Proffered Lotus is her first book of poems and prose. Let her inspire you to be like the sacred lotus, to rise above the mud, and bloom!

Allow her illuminating words to take you on an uplifting journey to discover the mental strength and emotional fortitude you need to withstand adversity, to practise acceptance and to find serenity.

Paullyn Sidhu lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The best thing about Paullyn Sidhu?

She does not let anyone shape her words or her destiny! She says it best when she says it

“I am who I am. I cannot lie. I’ve been in the ‘mud’ before. I’ve had bad hair days, made lots of silly mistakes, lost my temper and been too frank for my own good too.

But, hey - essentially, am I not as human as you are? Don’t we all have four moods – “mad, bad, sad and glad”?

Let me keep my kind heart please because I love reaching out and helping those who are in worse ‘mud’ than I have been in!

Further, I’m not afraid to say ‘hello’ to strangers and talk to people from all walks of life!

I treat everyone the same and I love being with people! Seriously, I’m not myself if I am not effervescent, energetic, positive, funny, charming and what-have-you!

Many troubled people turn to me like sunflowers to the sun. I still see the “sun” in them even when they’ve lost their shine. I listen, comfort, motivate and cheer them up.

My words and my hugs are my gift to the world. I always “Hey, it’s alright - cry if you want to, but if I, like the sacred lotus, can rise above the mud, you can too, na?”
