Among The White Moonfaces consists of four parts : the first two dealing with her early life and education in Malacca and Kuala Lumpur and the last two focusing on her American experience in Massachusetts, New York, and California with occasional revisits to her Malaysia and Singapore homelands. Starting with her earliest memories of childhood, and proceeding through her adolescence into adulthood and parenthood, accompanied by trials, triumphs and eventual success. Lim's book at first seems more an autobiography than a memoir.
